The name is BLANCA VASQUEZ, The CartoonGirl and I am passionate about advocating for youth and the arts! The mission at hand: to empower, educate and entertain young people.

Born and raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York as Blanca Nieves (Snow White in Spanish) or Blanquita, I was exposed to performance at a young age. Like a true pro I performed in month-long performances with a children’s theater group called TADA! Youth Theater, and soon after moved to Poughkeepsie, NY to perform in school musicals and study Communications at Marist College. There I graduated with a degree in Radio/TV/Film and Theatre and moved back home to explore the life of a working NY actress. Right away, I hit the pavement and I was fortunate enough to land a job at Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning where I continued to take acting classes, audition and perform AND most importantly where I got a taste of outreach and hiring performing artists. Since then I’ve worked in various theaters, TV offices and organizations as a Presenting Manager, a Membership Coordinator and more recently Manager of Community Affairs. The rest is history. I worked at other great places like The New Victory Theater, Sesame WorkshopThe Apollo Theater, Elsie Stark Casting, Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors, HITN-TV, Sundance Productions and plenty of others. For more information click here to see my Linkedin profile.

Nonetheless, throughout the years of building my nonprofit resume, I volunteered and participated became a board member of a couple of nonprofit organizations, ushered at Broadway theaters, worked as a Child Wrangler and a teaching artist while auditioning for TV, film and stage jobs as well as touring bilingual musicals for kids. I found that my character voices in those children’s shows revitalized my career into a children’s voiceover artist, recording for TV, audiobooks and toys, using young voices (specifically little boy voices in Spanish and English).

I am currently an active member of the performer’s union SAG-AFTRA and I am available for recording for TV shows, commercials, promos, toys, narration needed to be voiced into Spanish and English.
